From push to pull manufacturing processes

54.jpgA medium-sized manufacturing facility was forced by market pressures to make the transition from push manufacturing to pull manufacturing processes at the same time their parent company was instituting a Six Sigma effort. AAI worked with internal trainers and the production engineering staff to customize Celemi's Apples & Oranges Manufacturing simulation and then certify internal trainers to conduct the program. As a result 450 line operators and supervisors went through the program in one quarter, accelerating the adoption of new processes and reaching their production goals for the year.

The new challenge was to help senior talent rapidly shift from focusing solely on supply chain management to focusing on operating as marketing and distribution company. AAi worked with the organization's corporate university to customize Celemi's Tango simulation. This accelerated the adoption of new management practices, including efforts to maintain and grow the brand position, develop more competitive market and distribution strategies, retain and develop key talent, and align employees and customers.
